Description
-
Infrastructure-Grade Structural Design: The tank utilizes a scientifically calculated graduated wall thickness (8mm at the bottom, tapering to 6mm, 5mm, and 4mm at the top). This specific design ensures the structural integrity to withstand the massive hydrostatic pressure of 500 tons of liquid bitumen, offering superior safety compared to uniform-thickness tanks.
-
100mm Super Insulation System: While standard tanks often use 50mm insulation, this model is equipped with 100mm high-density rock wool. This double-layer thermal barrier significantly reduces heat loss and fuel consumption, making it ideal for cold climates or long-term storage.
-
High-Efficiency Matrix Heating: Inside the tank, 700 meters of seamless thermal oil coils (Φ57×3.5mm) provide a massive heat exchange area of 125.3m². The system is divided into 4 independent circuits, allowing precise zonal temperature control. A dedicated 20m³ fast-heating zone near the outlet ensures rapid bitumen suction without heating the entire tank.
-
Smart Logistics (SKD Solution): To resolve the transport difficulty of a 9.7m diameter tank, we deliver it as a Semi-Knocked Down (SKD) Kit. All steel plates are factory-rolled to the precise curvature. We provide detailed “Method Statements” for your team to assemble and weld it on-site, fitting a massive terminal into standard shipping containers.

Main Features
Working Principle & Structure
The tank adopts a vertical cylindrical structure with a flat bottom and conical roof.
-
Heating Logic: Hot thermal oil flows through the internal seamless steel coils. The coils are arranged in a serpentine matrix. The 4-zone design allows operators to control valves independently, heating only the bottom maintenance zone or the discharge zone as needed.
-
Foundation Requirement: The tank is installed on a user-built concrete ring beam foundation (Dia 10.2m). The center is arched (12cm height) and covered with asphalt sand to accommodate bottom plate deformation and distribute load evenly.
-
Safety Monitoring: It is equipped with a mechanical float level gauge for clear visual checks and a lightning protection device on top.
FAQ
Q1: How do you transport a tank with a 9.7m diameter?
A: We use the SKD (Semi-Knocked Down) method. The tank body is disassembled into pre-rolled steel plates and packed into standard containers. This saves significant ocean freight compared to breakbulk shipping.
Q2: Is the tank bolted or welded?
A: It is Fully Welded. Unlike bolted silos which may leak over time due to thermal expansion, our welded structure ensures a permanent, leak-proof seal for hot bitumen.
Q3: How long does installation take?
A: After the foundation is ready, the on-site production and assembly typically take 25-30 days under normal weather conditions
Q4: Do you provide the foundation design?
A: Yes. We provide detailed drawings for the concrete ring beam foundation (Diameter 10.2m, Height 20-30cm) which should be built by the user locally.
